NOTE: In 2011, we set a goal to achieve a score of 90, indicating that most of our manufacturing sites are engaging with the communities in each of four categories: safety, operational transparency, community leadership and community partnership - at FMC manufacturing sites and others major facilities. We have challenged each site to become involved with their local communities in the four defined areas. Sites receive a score (0, 25, 50, 75, or 100) based on the percentage of the four defined categories they completed during the calendar year. Site scores are than averaged to get a total value for FMC community engagement. (If the index were to reach 100, it would indicate that all sites engaged with their communities in all four categories during the reporting year).
In 2015, we reached 87 on the Community Engagement index, indicating that the majority of our 26 manufacturing locations have engaged in the four categories. To continue our progress, we have now set a goal to achieve 100 percent engagement in all categories at our global manufacturing sites by 2020.
