FMC seeks to be strong community partners where we work and live. Advancing the health of the environment and our communities is mutually beneficial to FMC and our stakeholders. At FMC Panoli, the commitment to sustainability is realized in the site’s celebration of World Environment Day.
World Environment Day (WED) was initiated by the United Nations to raise awareness and promote action for the protection of our environment. Today, WED is a chance to reconnect with nature and celebrate the places that matter the most to us.
On June 5th, FMC’s Agricultural Solutions site in Panoli, India organized a tree plantation drive to celebrate WED, whose 2017 theme was Connecting People to Nature.
Children of employees who performed well on their board examinations were also invited to the site to plant saplings. The proud parents and eager children thanked the management and staff of FMC for organizing the event. By the end of the day, volunteers had planted 75 trees, enhancing the green belt of the site. This year’s event was a continuation from 2015 when the site’s employees and families planted over 150 saplings along the green belt. Before the closing ceremony, volunteers took the pledge to continue their efforts to protect the environment and contribute to the site’s sustainability initiatives.
